Fathom announces its latest innovation in response to national workforce development challenges: The Manager Dashboard. This innovative prototype emerges from Fathom's extensive NSF I-Corps customer discovery research, highlighting data bottlenecks in case management and service delivery. The answer? Leverage the power of distributed ledger technologies (DLTs) like Learning and Employment Records (LERs) and Verifiable Credentials (VCs) to address the Department of Labor's Workforce Data Quality Initiatives (WDQI).
A Game-Changing Solution
The SEED Wallet and Manager Dashboard offer a powerful solution to transform talent management for WIOA participants and workforce development programs. With the SEED Wallet, WIOA participants can showcase their skills, qualifications, and credentials in a secure and verifiable manner, making it easier for employers to match them with suitable employment opportunities. The Manager Dashboard provides real-time data on participant performance and program outcomes, enabling workforce professionals to make data-driven decisions and optimize service delivery to ensure the success of WIOA participants. Together, they form a dual-sided talent management solution that offers:
Working closely with co-founders JoAdel Adeola and Julie Dunlap, product manager Marvin Smith led the technical product scoping backed by a Launch Tennessee micro-grant and funding from Pathway Lending.
Research-Driven Innovation
Fathom's approach remains rooted in evidence-based methods, and human-centered design ensures that this technology syncs perfectly with the public workforce system's demands. The research objectives behind the Manager Dashboard circled key questions, from understanding the screens and features that offer the most significant value for workforce providers to aligning the tool with client documentation and reporting requirements. The hypotheses posited that the Manager Dashboard would be more user-friendly and efficient than existing tools.
Affirmative Feedback & Insights
The results from the usability tests were outstanding. With a usability score 87.5, the Manager Dashboard secured an 'A' grade and positioned users as 'Promoters' of the product. This feedback, combined with the video testimonials, is a testament to the platform's efficacy and potential.
One case manager from Anaheim, CA, exclaimed, "This is great! It has all the features we could possibly need and use."
Such positive feedback, combined with the success of the Change Agents program in Nashville in previous years, makes Fathom a force to reckon with in the workforce development space.
The Way Forward
With 100% of the participants expressing interest and readiness to pilot the Manager Dashboard in their respective workforce agencies, the future looks promising. The Middle TN Workforce Development Board Director has even committed to piloting the tool locally.
